profession.bio  ·  Effective: January 1, 2025  ·  Last updated: March 27, 2026

Welcome to profession.bio. By using our services, you agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before submitting files or making any payment.

These terms govern all interactions between you (the "User") and profession.bio (the "Provider"). If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our services.

Section 01
Service Definition

profession.bio provides static website hosting for HTML pages on subdomains under the profession.bio domain — for example, yourname.profession.bio.

The service includes:

  • Allocation of a unique subdomain under profession.bio
  • Hosting of static HTML, CSS, and JavaScript files supplied by the User
  • HTTPS/SSL certificate provisioning for the assigned subdomain
  • File deployment performed by the Provider upon receipt of User-supplied files

Hosting only. profession.bio does not provide website design, development, copywriting, graphic design, SEO, or any other services beyond hosting your files on your subdomain.

Section 02
Pricing & Payment

The current hosting fee is ₹500 per subdomain per year. This covers one subdomain for twelve calendar months from the date of activation.

  • Each subdomain is billed separately at ₹500/year
  • Payment must be completed before the subdomain goes live
  • Hosting expires at end of term; renewal is required to continue
  • The Provider reserves the right to adjust pricing for future renewals with reasonable notice

Payments are processed online via Razorpay (cards, net banking, UPI) or by manual UPI transfer directly through the platform's payment page. No offline or WhatsApp-based payment arrangements are supported.

Section 03
User Responsibilities

By subscribing to profession.bio hosting, the User acknowledges and agrees to the following:

  • Own files: Users must provide their own website files. The Provider does not create or modify content on the User's behalf.
  • Content ownership: Users affirm they own or have legal right to use all content, images, media, text, and code in the submitted files.
  • Content accuracy: Users are solely responsible for the accuracy, legality, and appropriateness of all hosted content.
  • File integrity: Users are responsible for ensuring files are complete, functional, and free from malware before submission.
  • Updates: Website updates are self-managed — Users re-upload a new ZIP from their dashboard. Re-uploads are limited to once every 24 hours per subdomain.
  • Subdomain name: The Provider may reject names that are inappropriate, offensive, or already in use.
Section 04
Prohibited Content

The following content types are strictly prohibited. Hosting any such content constitutes an immediate material breach of these Terms:

  • Illegal content: Anything that violates applicable local, national, or international law
  • Copyright violations: Content that infringes on intellectual property or proprietary rights of any party
  • Adult content: Sexually explicit, pornographic, or adult-oriented material of any kind
  • Phishing & malware: Content designed to deceive users; any malicious scripts, viruses, ransomware, or harmful code
  • Hate speech: Content promoting discrimination, hatred, or violence against any individual or group
  • Spam & deception: Content designed to mislead visitors or facilitate unsolicited communications
  • Privacy violations: Disclosure of personal data of third parties without their explicit consent

Violation of this section will result in immediate suspension of the subdomain without refund and, where appropriate, reporting to relevant authorities.

Section 05
Hosting Limitations

profession.bio provides static hosting only. The following are explicitly not supported:

  • No backend hosting: Server-side code (PHP, Python, Node.js, etc.) is not executed or supported
  • No database hosting: Databases of any kind are not provided
  • No server-side processing: Form backends, dynamic content generation, and APIs are not supported
  • No email hosting: Email services are not included
  • No guaranteed uptime SLA: The Provider maintains reasonable availability but makes no specific uptime guarantee
  • Storage limits: Excessively large uploads may be declined at the Provider's discretion

The service is best suited for portfolios, resumes, and informational pages built with HTML, CSS, and client-side JavaScript.

Section 06
Infrastructure & Service Continuity Risk

Please read this section carefully before making payment. By paying, you confirm you have understood and accepted these risks.

profession.bio is operated on shared hosting infrastructure provided by a third-party hosting company (SunlightHost). The Provider does not own or control the underlying servers. As a result:

  • Third-party dependency: The availability of your subdomain depends on the continued operation of the upstream hosting provider. If that provider suspends, cancels, or materially changes the Provider's hosting plan, your site may be taken offline
  • No continuity guarantee: The Provider cannot guarantee uninterrupted service for the full annual term. Disruptions caused by the upstream provider are outside the Provider's control
  • No refund on infrastructure failure: If service is disrupted or permanently discontinued due to changes or termination by the upstream hosting provider, no refunds will be issued for the unused portion of the subscription period
  • Best-effort recovery: In the event of a major disruption, the Provider will make reasonable efforts to restore service or migrate to alternative infrastructure, but cannot guarantee a specific recovery timeline

The ₹500/year fee is priced to reflect these infrastructure risks. If you require guaranteed uptime or contractual SLAs, this service is not suitable for your needs. By completing payment you accept this risk in full.

Section 07
Traffic & Usage Limits

profession.bio operates on shared hosting with finite bandwidth and resource capacity. To maintain fair service for all users, the following apply:

  • Fair use policy: Sites that generate unusually high traffic volumes may be identified as consuming disproportionate resources
  • Notice of excess usage: If your site is found to consume excessive bandwidth or cause resource strain, the Provider will contact you with options including upgrading to a higher-capacity plan or reducing traffic
  • Suspension for excess traffic: If excess resource usage is not resolved after notice, the Provider reserves the right to suspend or terminate the hosting of the affected subdomain
  • Additional charges: In some cases, the Provider may offer continued hosting at an additional charge to cover the cost of higher resource tiers. You are under no obligation to accept — termination with no refund for remaining days is the alternative

profession.bio is designed for personal sites, portfolios, and resumes — not high-traffic commercial applications. Sites with moderate, typical personal-site traffic will not be affected by this policy.

Section 08
Service Suspension

The Provider may suspend or terminate any subdomain under the following circumstances:

  • Violation of any clause in these Terms and Conditions
  • Non-payment or failure to renew at the end of the annual term
  • Receipt of a valid legal notice, takedown request, or court order
  • Detection of malicious activity or excessive resource usage (see Section 07)
  • Disruption or termination of upstream hosting infrastructure (see Section 06)
  • Reasonable suspicion of fraudulent activity by the User

In cases of clear legal violations or malicious activity, suspension may occur without prior notice. For traffic and usage issues, the Provider will make reasonable efforts to notify the User before taking action.

Section 09
Refund Policy

All payments are non-refundable once hosting has been activated and the subdomain provisioned. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Payments are final upon activation of the hosted subdomain
  • No partial refunds for unused portions of the subscription period
  • Subdomains suspended for Terms violations are not eligible for refunds
  • No refund if the service is discontinued due to upstream infrastructure failure — this risk is disclosed in Section 06 and accepted at time of payment
  • No refund if the service is terminated due to excessive traffic or resource usage — this risk is disclosed in Section 07 and accepted at time of payment
  • If a requested subdomain is unavailable before activation and no alternative is agreed upon, a full refund will be issued

No legal action may be initiated against the Provider for refunds or damages arising from service termination due to upstream infrastructure changes or traffic-based termination, as these risks are fully disclosed and accepted prior to payment.

Section 10
Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, profession.bio and its operators shall not be liable for:

  • Any content published by Users — the User is solely responsible for all hosted content
  • Direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service
  • Loss of data, profits, or reputation from service interruptions or termination
  • Service discontinuation caused by the upstream hosting provider (SunlightHost)
  • Third-party claims or legal actions arising from content hosted by the User
  • Unauthorized access to User files resulting from circumstances beyond the Provider's control

The User agrees to indemnify and hold harmless profession.bio and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from the User's use of the service.

The Provider's total liability under these Terms shall not exceed the amount paid by the User for the current subscription period.

Section 11
Changes to Terms

profession.bio reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. The Provider will make reasonable efforts to notify active Users via email or other contact methods when material changes occur.

Continued use of the service after notification of changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Section 12

profession.bio collects and processes limited personal data in order to provide the service. By using the service, you agree to the following data practices:

  • Account data: Your email address and password (hashed) are stored to authenticate your account and communicate service updates
  • Payment data: Payments are processed by Razorpay. profession.bio does not store card numbers or full payment credentials. Transaction IDs and amounts are recorded for billing records

  • Log data: Server logs (IP address, request path, timestamp) are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention purposes
  • Data sharing: Your data is not sold or shared with third parties except where required to deliver the service (e.g. Razorpay for payment processing) or to comply with a legal obligation
  • Data deletion: You may request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing support@profession.bio. Hosted files are removed within 7 days of account deletion

For full details on how we collect, use, and protect your data, see our Privacy Policy. Razorpay's privacy policy governs how payment data is handled — review it at razorpay.com/privacy before making a payment.

Section 13
Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in India.

By making payment you confirm that you have read, understood, and voluntarily accepted all terms including the infrastructure risk disclosures in Sections 06, 07, and 09. No claim of non-disclosure may be made after payment is completed.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
